Rissi Palmer has lived and breathed country music her whole life. As a self-proclaimed historian and documentary-watching music nerd, she’s decided that enough is enough: “It’s time for country music to know where the f**k it came from,” she says. We couldn’t agree more. On her Apple Music Country radio show Color Me Country, the singer-songwriter brings to the forefront the Black, Indigenous, and Latinx histories of country music that for too long have lived outside the spotlight and off mainstream airwaves. Listen in as Rissi has riveting, funny, and necessary conversations with country music’s most vital and underrepresented voices. Color Me Country has been featured among some of country music’s most notable stars being showcased in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s “American Currents: State of the Music” exhibition in 2021 and in the Women of Country Music exhibit at The Grammy Museum in 2023. Rissi and Color Me Country Radio have received honors such as a SONA Warrior Award and UME Icon Award in 2023, and an ACM Lift Every Voice Award in 2025. .
